This option is available for those who are unable to attend evening classes or for those who have specific behavior (non-aggression) issues that they would like to address. Private lessons take place at the training building.
This Monday evening class is for those interested in earning their AKC Canine Good Citizen title and for those who may be interested in advanced obedience work and/or competition. Dogs must have previously completed a basic class.
If conformation dog shows is your fancy, this Wednesday evening class provides expert assistance to owners and handlers for the breed ring. Helpful advice is offered on stacking, correct movement, show ring manners, and grooming.
Classes for toddlers (pups under the age of 5 months) are held on Wednesday evenings. This class is a huge help to those first-time puppy owners as well as those owners getting started with a new pup. Introductory obedience commands and behavior assistance are offered in addition to helpful hints on biting, housebreaking, introductory grooming and overall responsible dog ownership. This is a fun and informative class and provides a great opportunity for puppy socialization.
Basic Obedience class is for dogs who have successfully completed a puppy or beginner class and are ready for new challenges. These classes are held on Tuesday evenings. Additional obedience commands and consistency are practiced. This basic obedience dog training class is the next step toward having a great home companion and the groundwork toward advanced training. The Novice Class on Thursday nights provides the opportunity to prepare for AKC Novice Obedience Trials or for competition in Mixed Breed Trials. Exercises include heel on and off lead, figure eight, stand for exam, recall, and group sit-stay and down-stay. Dogs must have their AKC CGC certificate/title before registering.
The AKC regulation sized matted ring is available for rental for you to practice with your dog during times when classes are not taking place. You may also rent the room for special occasions.

This four week class on Monday evenings helps to prepare you and your dog to begin the evaluation process to become a registered animal-assisted therapy dog team. The prerequisite is your dog's CGC title and a heartfelt desire to volunteer in the community.
